Miranda is a psychiatric nurse practitioner certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). She was initially certified as a PMHNP in June of 2019. Miranda completed her Master of Science in Nursing at Drexel University, located in Philadelphia, PA. While completing her MSN, she was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing (STTI), which requires academic excellence, maintaining a GPA of 3.5 or higher and ranking within the top 35% of the graduating class.  Before this she completed her Bachelor of Science of Nursing at King College graduating with honors and completed her Associate of Science in Nursing at Lincoln Memorial University.

Miranda first began her career in psychiatry at the age of 19, working in a local inpatient acute psychiatric setting for both adults and children as a program counselor. She continued this position while attending nursing school. Miranda later transitioned into the nursing role and later became the nursing supervisor of this facility. She also has experience in the outpatient and residential settings for both adults and children. In addition, as a psychiatric nurse practitioner, Miranda has extensive experience with addiction treatment, depression, anxiety, personality disorder, bipolar disorder, psychotic disorders, ADHD, conduct disorders, mood disorders in children, trauma/PTSD and autism spectrum disorders.

When not seeing her clients, you will find Miranda spending time with her husband and 3 children. As a family, they enjoy beach vacations, Disney, and movie nights. Miranda also has 3 cocker spaniels named Ace, Kylo and Chewy (Star Wars inspired) and one German wire-haired pointer named Goose.
Miranda is currently providing services for children and adolescents with River Valley Health, formerly Cherokee Health Systems. As a provider, Miranda’s strives to focus on her patient and their family in a way that promotes overall wellness. Miranda’s treatment approach is rooted in compassion, collaboration, and evidence-based practices. Miranda believes in creating a safe and nurturing environment where young patients and their families feel comfortable expressing their thoughts and emotions. By engaging in open dialogue, Miranda aims to understand her patient and their families’ unique experiences and challenges with the goal of making a treatment team that benefits not only the child but their family.
