Pharmacy

We understand that prescription medications are an important piece of treating acute and chronic conditions, and we're proud to have offered affordable in-house pharmacy services since 2005. Our health centers in Lenoir City, Knoxville-Center City, Morristown, and Alcoa serve as our main pharmacies.

Services

Patient Education

Our pharmacists are passionate about helping patients better understand their medications. From reviewing directions to potential side effects, our pharmacists are here to provide the best care to each patient.

Medication Refills

It is very important that you do not run out of the medications that you need! If you think you will run out of your medicine before your next appointment, call your pharmacy and let them know at least three days before you run out. The pharmacy will process your prescription so you can pick it up before you run out.

Can I transfer my prescription from another pharmacy?
Yes, we can help transfer your prescription. Provide us with your prescription information, as well as the name and phone number of the pharmacy where it is currently being filled. We will handle the transfer for you.

340B Drug Program and Patient Assistance Program

We have several programs designed to help patients with low incomes and no insurance access their medications. Many of these medications through the PAP program are sent directly to the patient’s home at no additional cost.

Medication Therapy Management

We provide medication therapy management to help patients get the best benefits from their medications. Our pharmacists do this in order to identify, prevent, and resolve medication-related problems.

Flu Prevention

The best protection against the flu is having a yearly flu vaccine. Currently, we vaccinate at our Center City Health Center from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

How to Pay for Medicine

We accept most commercial insurances, Medicare D and Medicaid (TennCare). Patients also can receive reduced-price medications at every River Valley Health Pharmacy, including telepharmacy sites. This is because our pharmacies participate in the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration's 340B Drug Pricing Program.

We also offer patient assistance programs to those who are totally uninsured and meet certain income requirements. Offered through collaboration with multiple drug manufacturers, patients at River Valley Health can enroll in one or more of the patient assistance programs and receive certain medications absolutely free of charge.
