River Valley Health Opens GetWellNow Walk-In Clinic in White Pine

First Urgent Care Clinic Brings Same-Day Behavioral and Primary Care to Jefferson County and Surrounding Counties

WHITE PINE, Tenn., November 6, 2025 – River Valley Health (RVH), formerly Cherokee Health Systems, has opened a GetWellNow walk-in clinic in White Pine, marking the first urgent care clinic in this Jefferson County community.

Less than a year ago, at an advisory council meeting, several staff members shared the need for walk-in clinical care in Jefferson County. Another employee immediately chimed in, saying that she had seen a “For Sale” sign for a clinic space in White Pine. After the meeting, River Valley Health CEO Dr. Parinda Khatri called RVH’s Director of Facilities and Chief Financial Officer. Within a week, they contacted the realtor and toured the space. Within a month, the RVH Board unanimously agreed to move forward with purchasing the clinic space and expanding the GetWellNow walk-in clinic to Jefferson County. Six months later, River Valley Health staff purchased, renovated, and outfitted the clinic, recruited a clinical and administrative team, and jumped through the many hoops needed to open a clinical practice.

“From beginning to end, this clinic is the work of our incredible team, the heartbeat of River Valley Health,” said River Valley Health CEO, Dr. Parinda Khatri. “This GetWellNow Clinic wasn’t built by the CEO or the Board, but by our mission-driven staff who turn compassion into action every single day. Our White Pine clinic allows us to serve even more patients in a new county, bringing quality, compassionate care closer to home for more families.”

The 1,700-square-foot clinic features three exam rooms and an on-site laboratory.

Services entail:

  • Medical and behavioral health walk-in care
  • Primary care for children 6 months and older for acute illnesses and minor injuries
  • Behavioral health services for adults, including triage, crisis management, and pediatric referrals

The clinic began seeing patients on Monday, October 20. Operating hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Patients who have not previously visited a River Valley Health clinic are welcome to be seen.
