River Valley Health Expands Care in Lenoir City with Larger Clinic
New facility increases clinical capacity by nearly 50%
LENOIR CITY, Tenn., August 7, 2025 – River Valley Health (RVH), formerly Cherokee Health Systems, is now serving more patients with expanded capacity at its newly constructed clinic located at 5500 Creekwood Park Boulevard. Situated on 10 acres, the more than 26,000 square foot facility was designed by Johnson Architecture and built by Joseph Construction, both Knoxville-based businesses. Nestled against a scenic forest backdrop, the clinic reflects River Valley Health’s commitment to whole-person care and healing environments.
On Thursday, August 7, in the heart of National Community Health Center Week, the non-profit healthcare organization will celebrate the new clinic with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in partnership with the Loudon County Chamber of Commerce. The event will begin at 9 a.m. and is open to RVH’s partners and chamber members. Journalists are also invited to attend.
Although the clinic officially opened and began serving patients on June 23, River Valley Health CEO Dr. Parinda Khatri shared the significance of this milestone: “Our greatest honor is increasing access to care for our patients. Through this new, larger, modern clinic, we can expand our capacity not only to reach more individuals but to establish ourselves as a trusted healthcare partner in the Loudon County community.”
The new location offers comprehensive, appointment-based primary care and behavioral health services for both children and adults. In addition, the GetWellNow walk-in clinic provides same-day care for urgent needs, including medical and behavioral health visits, pre-employment and sports physicals, and well-child checks.
Clinic features include:
- 18 primary care exam rooms
- 9 behavioral health offices, each with views of a serene outdoor rock garden and water feature
- 3 nurse pods
- A pharmacy with drive-through window
- A full-service laboratory for on-site tests and analyses
- Backup generator for emergency preparedness
“Since we broke ground in October 2023, I’ve believed this would be a special place where everyone feels welcome, regardless of their background or ability to pay. This clinic represents our renewed commitment to this part of East Tennessee,” Joe Haniford, River Valley Health Board President, said.
The Lenoir City clinic is also a step forward in RVH’s sustainability goals. Powered in part by solar energy through Chroma Energy Group, it is the organization’s first solar-powered facility. The building also incorporates geothermal heating and cooling, energy-efficient design, and eco-conscious materials, further aligning with River Valley Health’s holistic approach to care.
Looking ahead, River Valley Health plans to expand services even further. RVH is in the process of hiring a dentist to soon begin offering comprehensive dental care, rounding out its integrated model of medical, behavioral and specialty care under one roof. Additionally, there is x-ray technology available and staff are earning certifications to utilize this medical equipment.
